Since 2012, PPGCP professors have been maintaining permanent contacts with the Carlos III University, based in Madrid, Spain, assuring the formation of a cooperation network under the theme "Subnational Governance Structures and the Impacts of Climate Change". This network seeks to analyze how local governance arrangements can provide important subsidies through the empowerment of governmental actors and civil society, contributing to the formulation of public policies linked to domestic climate change and also to the intensification of cooperation policies International. The products of this investigation may eventually subsidize state and non-state actions, orienting public policy planning and, above all, constituting a rich material of analyzes, surveys and experiences, potentially relevant to the socialization of public debate (institutions, companies, civil society movements, etc.). With the support of this partnership, under the coordination of Professor Alberto Teixeira da Silva, PPGCP obtained approval of the project "Global Environmental Security in the Amazon: dimensions and agendas", by CNPq Official Notice / CAPES Nº. 07/2011 (Case 401145 / 2011-5) and, more recently, with the approval of the project "Geopolitics of Climate Change and Subnational Public Policies: the action of the State Governments of the Amazon", in the Universal Call MCTI / CNPq Nº. 14/2013, in the line of studies on governance and multidimensional / environmental security agendas. Also based on this agreement, Professor Alberto Teixeira da Silva was released for a postdoctoral internship at Carlos III. With this, positive results are expected for the strengthening of this area under the PPGCP.
